Piet Pulles ("Pete" to his American friends) was the original author of the series of books "Screaming Eagles of WWII" and the separate book "Honored Dead of WWII". It took him more than 20 years to collect the basic information on all participants of one of the American Army paratrooper units: the 101st Airborne Division.
Over the years, the booklets became a well-known reference document within the Airborne world. After his death in 1997, the Screaming Eagles of WWII Foundation, holding the copyright to the books, kept the series available on a non-profit basis.
